A Precious Child Bowling Tournament

This past Sunday I photographed a charity event hosted by A Precious Child of Broomfield, CO. It was at Chipper's Lane Bowling Alley and the Broomfield Police and Firemen went head to head for the trophy again with the Police Dept. winning again! 12 year old Miss Colorado, Kaitlyn, was a great addition to the night and handed out the final awards. There were lots of fun games and great prizes. Please help support the kids in our local community by donating to A Precious Child. You can find them on Facebook.

John and I went down to Colorado Springs yesterday and did a photography hike at The Garden of the Gods. It is like Red Rocks in Morrison. There were soooo many people there since it was such a gorgeous day out. It seemed that most people had their dogs with them and so many of them had puppies! Cute puppies! I saw a Mastiff puppy that was so small and so adorable! I would have loved to ask her if I could take a photo of her puppy but the trail was busy and that probably would not have set well with the other fellow hikers on the trail if I turned it into a photo session. Because those of you who know me know that I can't take just one photo, especially of a cute puppy.

This is Annie, she is a pointer lab puppy and was so much fun to photograph. She was VERY active and I sure got my workout but was happy with the results.

I am absolutely having a ball photographing dogs, cats and puppies lately. I photographed 4 adorable puppies yesterday so keep an eye out for those photos tomorrow.

Santa really came by our house to surprise a few kids that were here for a photo shoot. The children are recipients of donated items from A Precious Child in Broomfield and when I met them and their foster/adopted mom at a charity event where she told her story and how A Precious Child helped them I just fell on love and had to photograph them. What a fun day it was and when Santa showed up to surprise the kids it made everyone's day! Thank you so much Santa and Mrs. Claus for the memorable event. BTW, the last photo is of my niece Taylor who happened to be here visiting from Idaho/

Baby Deer at Red Rocks

While doing a senior portrait session at Red Rocks last Friday we came across a baby deer and her/his mother. The mother was not too happy that we stumbled across her baby and kept hopping up and down and making grunting noises at us. I have never heard a deer make noises before. So I snapped a few pictures and moved on.

This is Oscar, he is a Mastiff. He was the biggest dog I have photographed and he scared me a little at first but then we warmed up to each other. He just finished doing chemotherapy so lets all wish him the best in his recovery.

My husband is such a movie fanatic and he’s always going around quoting lines from his favorite movies. There’s one quote (I think it’s from a book) that sticks with me and that’s “there are no ordinary moments, no ordinary days”. That really strikes a chord with me because that’s the way I look at every photo shoot I do. Sure, I’ve done a lot of family portraits, maternity pictures, weddings, etc., but for me each is a beautiful, unique moment I get to share with my clients. That’s another reason why I love what I do. And thank you, for letting me be a part of it.

OK, these are some amazing Goldens! They are working dogs that help others. Caitee (top photo) goes to the hospital to help people as well as helps with the police department with victims of crimes. Sophie 7 Months

Sophie is now 7 Months old! We were hiking at Red Rocks yesterday and I took these photos of her. What a gorgeous day it was! We came across an adorable chocolate lab puppy that she played very gently with for a while. For a few moments I actually was wanting another puppy! But then reality set in and the thought of having 4 dogs did not suit me.

I started out in photography doing children's headshots for a talent agency in Orange County. I actually received a call yesterday to do some photos for the Tyra Show, but the person that referred me didn't know that I had moved to Colorado.

Portland Trip

I went to Portland last weekend to visit my Sister, niece and stepdaughter. It was so great to see them all! My niece one of the craziest people I know and she totally made me laugh the whole trip! My sister's dogs were great and

their chihuahua, Bandit, it hilarious! My stepdaughter is all grown up and I am so proud of all her and all her accomplishments! I also was able to meet her boyfriend Rick who is great! My poor sis was on crutches! Can't wait to go back!

Super Bowl Sunday

What a beautiful snowy day it is here today. I do love when it snows, as long as I don't have to be out in it for long. after my recent snowmobiling experience, I realized how awful it feels to be totally COLD from head to toe!

I am not a football fan, but hey I like horses so I think I will root for the Colts! But I do like getting together with friends to hang out so it should be a great day.

Breckenridge, Colorado

Last week my family went to Breckenridge for a week. What a cute and quaint little town it is. It was snowing and really cold the first few days we were there and on the coldest day we decided to take a 3 hour snowmobile ride. My hand about froze from taking it out of my glove to take a few shots. Then the sun came out and it was pretty blue skies the rest of the week. My husband and daughter took snowboarding lessons, for everyone else's safety I decided to stay off the mountain. I did walk up to the jumps and snap some photos though. We will definitely be heading back up there!

Calling all Newborn babies!

Capturing a newborn baby during the first few weeks of their life is something so special. From their tiny hands and feet to their small little head and body. I love to photograph newborn babies with their parents. They grow so fast and will never be that tiny again.

So if you know anyone with a newborn or who is pregnant be sure to tell them how important it is to get newborn portraits done. I recommend doing them between 2-4 weeks of age. Anyone who mentions this blog will receive $50 off of their session fee plus 20% off of their print order .

I was so completely horse crazy as a kid and still am. One day I hope to have a horse again. I actually took this photo while visiting family in Idaho and my daughter did the rest to it. I came home one day and it was the background on my computer.

Flagstaff Amphitheater

We just got back from shooting an engagement session in Boulder. We went to a park that is right on Boulder creek for some shots and then up Baseline road to the Flagstaff Amphitheater.

OK, so I told the couple it was really pretty there but what I didn't tell them (which I found out once I got there) that we had to hike up about 1/2 mile at least in the snow. The road was closed so we had quite a walk up to get to it. My jeans are still wet from standing knee deep at times taking their photos. But it was definitely beautiful up there. I will post some of the photos when I finish with them.

Red Rocks

We went hiking at Red Rocks on Sunday and I went back and forth with my husband on whether I should bring the good camera along. He wanted to and I said lets just bring the little one so we don't have to carry something heavy. Of course during our hike we saw so many bunnies, birds and a mother deer and two baby fawns. I was kicking myself for not having the good camera and a zoom lens! I wish I could have got a photo of the two baby deer together, but one was partly behind a bush. The mother deer was so skinny! I felt bad for her. So here are the photos taken with a very old point and shoot camera so they aren't of the best quality.
